Due to the global pandemic of the coronavirus, the beef, chicken, and pork supply chain is in danger. In order to comply with social distancing and safety guidelines, facilities now have to operate with majority of their staff furloughed. The All American farmer is still raising chickens, beef cattle, and hogs, but fewer places are available to slaughter and process the meat. At least 79 food processing and meat packaging plants have had cases of COVID-19 reported. Meanwhile the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have enforced new guidelines for workers, it is difficult to slow production down in a high-speed assembly line atmosphere.
