HFA Stops Massachusetts Rotten-Egg Bill… For Now

In 2016, an initiative was passed that required egg-layed hens must have no less than 1.5 square feet of floor space per bird. However the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has banded together with UEP United Egg Producers, to reduce the amount of living space hens are provided. If the bill passes, roughly thirty three percent more hens would be in factories that would go against the 2016 bill initiative. That would also lead to the construction of multi-level egg factories that limits hens space. Thankfully the Humane Farming Association stopped the new, limited space bill from passing.
