Joined forces of Washington D.C. Food & Water Watch (FWW) and the Center for Food Safety are working together to file a lawsuit against a new pork inspection system. The NSIS, New Swine Inspection System lessens government inspection of animals and carasses that show signs of disease or other public health related conditions that can be passed on to humans. The new regulation also limits number of animals that are inspected by trained and experienced vetenarians. Now, the evaluation can be placed in the hands of untrained and inexperienced slaughterplant hands. Not to mention if an animal shows signs of disease, the new system allows the slaughterplant to ship the diseased animal to another plant.
