Dr. Gionet is a Jacksonville native, graduated from the University of Florida's Veterinary School, and practiced in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Florida; primarily in private "companion animal" practice" for thirteen years. She is currently working on a new project that helps combat the pet overpopulation problem.
A member of the Jacksonville Veterinary Medical Society, the AVMA, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the Association of Shelter Veterinarians, Dr. Gionet has been interested in feral cat welfare for years and has been a very good friend of The Bear Foundation.
